Greening Michigan Facilities One City at a TimeDeveloping and operating green facilities is becoming the norm for commercial buildings and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and Green Cleaning are important components. Green Cleaning is not just replacing current products with green chemicals, it is about examining the entire process of cleaning, identifying the areas that can be improved, developing a plan and the procedures to implement the plan, executing the plan and measuring the results. A sustainable Green Cleaning program also includes recycling, energy savings, pest management and social equity. Led by Stephen Ashkin, nationally known as the "Father of Green Cleaning," this educational session will review the components of a comprehensive green cleaning program and the role the cleaning industry plays in environmental responsibility. Operations, Facilities and Maintenance Managers, Building Owners, Buildings and Grounds Supervisors, Environmental Services Managers and Directors and any person interested in the built environment is invited and encouraged to attend. Breakfast/Lunch will be served.
