This year, our associates are celebrating the 4th of July with a big boom.
To celebrate this Independence Day, we asked some of our associates from locations around our Great Lakes region what the 4th of July means to them and what holiday traditions they share with their loved ones.
Jenny Taylor, Customer Service Representative from Bowling Green, shared how she spends the 4th of July at home with her family. “We have a cookout, swim in the pool, and when it is time, we head over to watch the fireworks show that is put on near my house,” Jenny said. “My favorite 4th of July memory is always going to watch the fireworks with my family and doing sparklers as we wait for the big show.”
Ashley Campbell, Buyer from Traverse City, told us that she usually spends the holiday at either Torch Lake or Fife Lake. Ashley also said that spending the day with family and watching fireworks in her kids are her favorite parts of the 4th of July holiday.
As for myself, Marketing Coordinator from Norton Shores, my family and I would usually be on a road trip during the 4th of July. I had the chance to celebrate in a few different cities over the years; one year in the Black Hills of South Dakota and another year on the shores of Maine. This year, I am heading to a friend’s beach house to celebrate the holiday in my favorite state of Michigan. The traditions, no matter what city I am in at the time, will always remain the same: barbecue, fireworks, and cooling off during a hot July day in the nearest body of water.
Whether our associates are at home, on a trip, or watching fireworks, we wish them all a happy and safe 4th of July.
We will be closed Monday, July 5th
