Michigan Battle of the Buildings Winner 2015

We are so proud of our accomplishment again this year!  On Friday, April 22nd (Earth Day) we celebrated with all of the other winners at the 2015 Michigan Battle of the Buildings Energy Summit.  In 2014 we took first place in our building category with a 7% reduction in our energy usage and we were extremely happy about that.  When we registered for the 2015 Michigan (now a state-wide competition) we knew the competition would even be more difficult with the amount of square footage participating more than doubling to 27 million, we had no idea at that point of how we would conserve even more energy.  We are happy to report that we reduced our energy usage by another 10.84% in 2015 placing us 2nd in our category.  Read our story and the stories of the other winners in the 2015 Battle of the Buildings in the Grand Rapids Business Journal special insert.

We also want to report that even though our Nichols – Holland facility didn’t place in the top two, we did reduce our energy in that building by 4.29% as well.

We have registered both our Norton Shores headquarters and distribution center as well as Holland in the 2016 Michigan Battle of the Buildings, we know that energy efficiency is a journey and there is always more to do.   Registration is now closed for 2016 and there is more than 64 million square feet competing.  We look forward to the results.
