A Day in the Life: Nichols Sales Representative

Your Nichols Sales Representative is probably the first person who comes to mind when you think about Nichols. After all, our Sales Reps spend the majority of their time out on the road visiting our customers. Whether it be an introductory meeting, building walkthroughs, product and equipment demos, or several other types of interactions, the common goal for everything they do is that they are looking to offer and share solutions to problems and/or inefficiencies customers may have as they operate their businesses. Our reps try to gain a true understanding of each customer’s concerns and issues and do their best to solve them—as quickly, effectively, and affordably as possible.

Each Rep offers themselves as an expert resource that their customers can reach out to if they need any janitorial and packaging product knowledge, advice, and solutions. If for some reason they don’t have an answer, they have an entire network of 70 other Nichols Reps as well as Reps from all of our Strategic Suppliers. In some situations, our Reps can even offer vendor-managed inventory (VMI) so that, once it is set up and mutually agreed upon, the given customer doesn’t have to worry at all about what and when they will need to order.

In addition to maintaining relationships with their current customer base, our Sales Reps also have the responsibility of growing the company through the prospecting of new potential customers. They may make a phone call, reach out by email, or even stop by for a visit at your facility and leave a Nichols Catalog and their business card. No matter what method they use, they do so because they have an interest in helping your business be successful.

It takes a special kind of person to be a successful Sales Rep. They must be diligent, organized, have integrity, embrace change, and not take things personally. All in all, our Sales Reps play a pivotal role in our purpose, which is to provide solutions for clean and healthy facilities and the safe shipment of products through the promise of I.K.E., Innovation, Knowledge, and Excellence. We appreciate you and all your effort, Sales Team!
