Happy Thanksgiving from Nichols!

Over the next few days, everyone will be traveling, spending timeThanksgiving with loved ones, eating great food, watching football, and considering what they are thankful for.

Although we are thankful for our customers, vendors, partners, and associates all year round, we at Nichols would like to show extra appreciation this time of year.

Thank you all so much! Without all of you, Nichols wouldn’t exist. You are much more than a transaction to us; we value the relationships we’ve built with you all throughout the years. Here’s to many, many more!

Here are some interesting facts about Thanksgiving Day you might not have been aware of:

  • Americans eat 704 million pounds of turkey every Thanksgiving. With the average weight of a turkey being 16 pounds, that comes out to around 44 million turkeys served. That’s a lot of food!
  • The first Thanksgiving lasted 3 days. While there was no turkey served, they likely ate venison, duck, goose, oysters, lobster, eel, fish, pumpkin, and cranberries.
  • “Jingle Bells,” the classic Christmas song, was originally called “One Horse Open Sleigh,” and was meant to be sang on Thanksgiving.
  • According to a 2015 Harris Poll, 81% of Americans prefer the leftovers of the Thanksgiving meal over the meal itself.
  • According to estimates by AAA, 55 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more for Thanksgiving. If you’re driving, please do so safely!

This holiday weekend while our associates are all spending time with their families and friends, we will also be thinking of you!

Our offices will be closed Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th to give our associates a chance to celebrate with their families. We will return to normal business hours on Monday, November 28th.
